looking for colorful flowers that will stay in bloom spring through fall and only require morning sun?

macnotes@sbcglobal.net asked:
My cat loved to walk through the flowers in our garden and smell them. She is now buried between 2 pine trees in our yard. The area only receives sun morning to just before noon. I would like to plant colorful flowers on her grave that will bloom from spring to first frost. Can you suggest some flowers that I might plant there?

Dahlias are great. They come back year after year and they’ll bloom all summer. Take a closer look at some of the pics.

Impatiens would do well, as would begonias. Plant a few ferns and hostas as well.
