Does a red maple tree have flowers in the spring?

I recently moved to a new home. There is a young tree in the yard that looks like a maple. The leaves are a maple leafs shape, it has helicopters(tiny ones right now), but I didnt know that a maple had flowers in the spring. Any one know for sure?

Yes. they are usually small and a pale green.
She is right, red maple has red flowers.
Sugar maple flowers are green.
